All MapMakers’ 2017 Census Enhanced GIS Data Series products are now shipping with very latest 2016 Census attributes. In addition to the equivalent data included in previous releases, we now include “need for assistance” data, in recognition of the roll-out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Also new to the 2017 product range are individual weekly income ranges, giving even more flexibility to gain insights into relative wealth and hardship.
Here are a few illustrations using our 2017 postcode geography populated with 2016 Census data.
Postcodes where eligible persons needing assistance occur in higher than average numbers – New South Wales / ACT and Tasmania.
Notice how the analysis accurately pinpoints the Concord Repatriation Hospital postcode as “high assistance needs”.
NDIS service providers can use insights like this to optimise their operating catchments. This example pools all individual who qualify – that is those 64 years old or under. The product contains sufficient detail to allow restriction by age groups. Should it be necessary, we can update your product with additional variables to give you even more insights in your specific areas of interest.
